This holiday season, the Karidis Retirement Villages community are together supporting Foodbank with a food drive to reduce hunger in South Australia.
Foodbank is a not-for-profit, non-denominational, federated organisation provides essential food and grocery relief to more than one million Australians.
As part of the Food Drive, the Karidis Retirement Villages have 8 food collection points at each village’s Community Centre and our Head Office in Angas Street. With villages across the inner south and western suburbs of Pasadena, Plympton, Marion, Glenelg, Brooklyn Park and Lockleys we encourage the support of the community to drop off food items that will go to those in need.
Karidis Corporation’s Chairman; Gerry Karidis AM said the organisation is proud to partner with Foodbank to help deliver the much-needed initiative.
“Foodbank makes a real difference to people who are doing it tough in our community, so we wanted to support their Christmas Food Drive this year to help them with this important work,” he said.
Executive, Peter Karidis added; “We’re encouraging staff, residents and the local communities those to share what they ‘can’ donating goods at one of our collection points until the 10 December” he said.
“No matter how big or small, any donation is welcome”
The initiative commenced on the 23rd of November and will finish on the 10th of December. If you want to join us to reduce hunger in South Australia this Christmas season.
